Jordan Crouch first got his chance in the USA from the PRIDE with Kent Prep School after the two teams played a friendly game in 29. After returning to finish his sixth form education Jordan got his opportunity to play NCAA Football with Augustana.
Elliot Hoyte is the most successful British export in recent memory. A member of the 21 National Champion Bristol Aztecs Junior Team he is another fine defensive lineman to start his journey here in our community program. Elliot played 5 years on a top 25 NCAA D1 team and won the Fiesta Bowl. Graduating in 217 Elliot has now turned his drive for success to business.
Tom was a team captain with the PRIDE and the lynch pin on our offensive lines for two seasons. A terrific student athlete Tom's dedication to change his body shape has transformed his life making him a formidable force in the NCAA. His hard work at Austin College bought the coaching staff back to Bristol to recruit two further PRIDE players.
Samir (a Bristol native) was our first PRIDE player to receive a scholarship. Samir enjoyed 4 years of playing NCAA Football as a defensive back at Illinois College. He triple majored before going onto St Louis to complete his masters. Now living in the USA he is working in Chicago.
Alex Jenkins is a product of our great community programs. Starting with the Bristol Aztecs Juniors he was invited in to train with the PRIDE to help prepare him for his move to Texas on a scholarship to UIW. Now 5 years on he has graduated College and has signed with an NFL agent ahead of the 217 NFL Draft.
Graham is a product of our very successful community league the BACL. Starting the game with us in Bristol at 16 he went onto play for the Great Britain U19 side before obtaining a scholarship at LA Verne in California.
3 year starter at the PRIDE, Tom Clancy has just amassed more than 9 yard receiving at Austin College in Texas as a Freshman.
The Bristol Academy PRIDE has had more than 2 players progress to the USA on scholarship either directly through us or through our community programs (BACL formerly Bristol Aztecs Juniors). These young men have benefited from life changing experiences both in the sport and in education as a result of getting the opportunity to continue in their sport in the USA.
Nothing is guaranteed though, there is no one that can guarantee a scholarship, but we can guarantee that our methods and attention to detail with education, gym, training, film review and games is proven more successful than anywhere else in Europe.
NCAA D2 & D3
Strong American Links
Head Coach Ben Herod, and Offensive Coordinator Daniel Maher, both have strong links to schools in the USA. Maher himself a product of the Academy is a former Scholarship athlete at Illinois College, whilst Herod’s work with Football University and extensive networking over the years has left him with several close connections with a lot of Division 3 schools in the USA.
At the PRIDE there is a proven track record of players progressing to the USA, not all through the links provided, but all as a result of the exposure the Academy has given them.
The importance of playing 11on11 football against quality teams can not be overlooked for those looking to be recruited. It is important to tick all the boxes when trying to be recruited. Playing for a quality team against other quality teams, having good academics and good physical measurables will help you tick all those boxes required to put you in a strong position to be recruited.
Our student-athletes enjoy the benefits of a program maximizing your opportunities to be recruited. They benefit from as close of a comparison to high school football outside of the USA there is, giving them the same programs on the field and in the gym that many top highschool teams are using.
Other exit routes:
The USA is not for everyone though. Some prefer the pathway we offer into the British University Programs. We have had many players offered scholarships to British Universities such as two time National Champions, the Stirling Clansmen. Our program is recognised as producing the best in young European talent so many British Universities will look to recruit graduating players. This can also open the door to certain Universities that grades alone would not.
Some of our players chose the semi professional route to play in the big European Leagues in Germany, Norway and Finland. Earning money whilst getting to play the sport they love and see more of the world. Each year our players get offers to play in everything from GFL 1 in Germany (the top league in Europe) to teams in Switzerland, Russia and Italy.
