We are one of seven education centres around the country that work directly with the Amateur Boxing Association of England to deliver the AASE programme, where students can earn boxing development qualifications in a self-reflective syllabus as a conduit to areas such as high-performance boxing training, sports science, sports development, sports administration and elite coaching.
The Boxing Academy has been around for six years and is now the biggest boxing Centre of Excellence in the South West.
Currently there are 25 students on the roster and each athlete gets 16-2 hours of contact with a professional boxing coach every week. We allows for students to train as full-time athletes.
Each academy student gets specialist one-to-one coaching with a strong emphasis on improving technical skills, strength and conditioning and tactics.
Boxing Academy students also get supervised strength and conditioning sessions at our high performance gym and have access to our full-time team of physios.
Head of the Boxing Academy, Craig Turner has over 25 years of coaching experience and has nurtured very positive relationships with all the local boxing clubs in and around Bristol.
We also have a development squad for those who are new to the sport and also for club boxers who can benefit from top-level coaching.
Some of our former students include Adelaide Baker, who was twice National Champion and Ray Penfold who boxed in a national final. Natalie Craig has won five major titles and has boxed for England, while current student, Elizabeth Pauls is also a national champion and has boxed for England in the Three Nations.
