SGS Student close to Open qualification

SGS College student Olly Huggins is made it through to the last qualifying round for this year’s Open, which will be played at Royal Birkdale later this month.

Olly, who finished his two-year course at SGS just over a week ago, was playing at his home club of Frilford in the hope of making the grade.

With a solid score of -1, Olly will get to tee it up along with 15 competitors in the two-round Final Qualifying Session held at Notts Hollinwell Golf Course this week.
In 215, former SGS student Ali Balcombe played in the Open at St Andrews alongside the legendary Tom Watson and narrowly missed the cut by two shots.
